Marriott St. Louis Grand Names New General Manager

ST. LOUIS, MO – 02-15-2019 (PRDistribution.com) — Theona Simbrat Tapped to Lead Historic 917-Room Hotel on Washington Avenue

With over 15 years of hospitality experience, Theona Simbrat has been appointed by Haberhill LLC as General Manager to oversee the Marriott St. Louis Grand hotel. The Fernandina Beach, Florida-based Haberhill has been lending external expertise to investors in the hospitality and lodging sector since 2000. The hotel is currently under license from Marriott International Inc.

Throughout her Marriott career, Theona has been very successful at making a positive impact  on all of her hotels and markets.  From 2003 to 2006, she held the positions of Director of Services and Front Office Manager at Denver Marriott City Center.  In 2006, Theona was promoted to Director of Restaurants at the Houston Marriott Medical Center.  In 2007, Theona was promoted to Assistant General Manager at Scottsdale Marriott Suites Old Town and in 2010 she became General Manager at the Kansas City Airport Marriott. In 2012, Theona was the General Manager at the Renaissance Cleveland Downtown Hotel. During her tenure at this hotel, Theona was recognized for providing exceptional leadership to that hotel team as they transitioned the hotel to a different ownership concern.

In 2015, she went on to serve as the General Manager of Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa.  During her time in Lexington, Kentucky she successfully re-positioned the hotel to Marriott Full Resort status and increased overall customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction during the process.  She also oversaw some major renovations to the hotel mansion and its golf course. She brings this entire wealth of knowledge and experience to her new position here in St. Louis.

In her spare time, Theona enjoys gardening, reading, fishing and is an avid sports fan. The latter will certainly come in handy moving to what many consider the best sports city in the nation.

“The move so far has been great – I’ve found the St. Louis community to be very hospitable,” Simbrat said. “I look forward to making new friends and to continuing the level of service excellence this hotel has maintained for so long.”
