The First Ever Jewelry Fashion Show at Sustainable Fashion Day

New York – 03-18-2019 (PRDistribution.com) — The first jewelry fashion show at Sustainable Fashion Day was presented by an Australian based designer, Angela Clark. Sustainable Fashion Day is an initiative started by Producer Celia Evans Polhemus for the fashion media and events company Planet Fashion.

The concept is a touring fashion event featuring ethical and sustainable emerging designers from around the world. Sustainable Fashion Day was one of the noteworthy experiences at New York Fashion Week.Held in the East Village at Ideal Glass Studios, the goal of the event was to address human impact on the environment though fashion. There was also panel discussions about what’s new in sustainable fashion production, manufacturing textiles and cosmetics. The evening began with a panel discussion featuring Oliver Tolentino of Beverly Hills, who regularly dresses stars like Jessica Alba, Emmy Rossum for the red Stacey Chung the designer of Veerah Vegan shoes made of Apple Leather, Angela Clark the designer of ethical and sustainable Accessories, Bridgett Artise a sustainable fashion expert featured in the New York Times, and Kat Merryfield, the number one privately owned CBD company in America. She is launching a full range of CBD cosmetics this year. Her brand, Kat’s Naturals is also the only female owned CBD company. Sophie Beam, a musical artist discovered and developed by Beyonce, gave a highlight performance during the evening. She sang two original songs and the crowd went wild. The fashion show featured Oliver Tolentino, who showed an intricate couture collection of evening gowns made of fabric derived from Pineapple leaves. Bridgett Artise showed a funky post modern collection of up-cycled ready to wear. Upcycling is clothing that is created from recycled, repurposed clothing and fabrics to reduce environmental waste. Angela Clark came in from Melbourne Australia to showcase sustainable jewelry and to discuss her outreach and support to artisans in the third world. Clark creates intricate designs that are both ethical and sustainable. She has pieces for example, in which an antique 1920’s compact case becomes a bold pendant centerpiece. Her Jewelry is an eclectic mix of timeless and modern. These accessories are much more than jewelry, they are almost apparel with Swarovski crystals woven into breastplates and skirt-like waist covers. Each piece is one of a kind. This was Sustainable Fashion Day’s first ever jewelry fashion show.During her Jewelry fashion show, Clark teamed her accessories with sheer garments by Eugeene Teh . The garments were nude so as not to disrupt the aesthetic of the bold colorful statement jewelry. Teh, a costume designer from Australia made gorgeous nude dresses, tops and pants, that ranged from form fitting to billowy, and were statement pieces in their own right.Overall the evening was informative, uplifting and entertaining. It was a great crowd of fashionistas that want to change the world, and a great example of the sustainable fashion trends on the horizon. Learn more about Angela Clark at https://angelaclarkboutique.comMore about Sustainable Fashion Day contact: [email protected]
