OGC Announces New Leadership

United states – 04-02-2019 (PRDistribution.com) — Global location-based standards consortium appoints new leadership team to build on a 25 year history of geo-enabling the world’s information systems

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) proudly announces new leadership to guide the consortium into the next 25 years of its mission to advance and promote location standards.

OGC is a global consortium of more than 525 cross-sector organizations participating in a consensus process to develop freely available standards for location data technologies. Since its inception in 1994, OGC – along with the wider geospatial and location sector – has experienced significant growth and diversification in areas such as Defense, Smart Cities, IoT, BIM, and Marine. OGC’s new leadership will continue to work with the consortium members and the broad range of global communities of interest to remain in-step with the rapid development of location-enabled technologies, sensors, and information sources.

Dr. Nadine Alameh returns to OGC to serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Nadine brings executive leadership experience, a background in standards development and deployment, and technical expertise. As CEO, she has responsibility for creating and integrating the strategic direction and business plans of the organization in partnership with the OGC Board, members, and staff.

“I am excited to return to OGC as CEO and member of an exceptional leadership team,” said Nadine. “I look forward to harnessing our collective passion for interoperability, and to solidify OGC’s global position as an open, collaborative forum that drives innovation for the location sector. We are living in an exciting and rapidly changing world where location plays an increasingly critical role.”

Joining Nadine, is Bart De Lathouwer as President of the consortium. Bart will assure the implementation of the OGC business plan and oversee OGC budget and finance administration, global member services, and business development. He will maintain his role as the General Manager of OGC’s subsidiary operations in Europe.

Scott Simmons is the final new addition to the team taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role Scott will focus on the day-to-day operational integrity and quality of OGC programs and outputs ensuring they meet the needs of OGC’s membership and the global community. He assumes this position in addition to serving as head of OGC’s Standards Program.

Nadine, Bart, and Scott will join George Percivall, Chief Technology Officer, and Jeff Burnett, VP for Finance and Administration, to form OGC’s new senior leadership team.
