Mayor Sam Liccardo to Speak at Local Law School Graduation

United States, California, San Jose – 05-09-2019 — • Mayor Sam Liccardo will feature as the keynote speaker at Lincoln Law School of San Jose’s 100th graduation ceremony.

SAN JOSE, CA, May 8, 2019 /Press Release/ — As the featured speaker at Lincoln Law School of San Jose’s 100th Year Graduation Celebration, Mayor Sam Liccardo will be sharing his words of wisdom with a diverse group of students who have sacrificed three or four nights per week of after work classes, with the hope of using their hard-earned legal skills to assist underserved San Jose communities.  A centennial gala will be held later this year. 
Keynote speaker, Mayor Sam Liccardo has been in office since 2015.  Sam graduated from San José’s Bellarmine College Prep and from Georgetown University, where he was captain of the heavyweight Crew.  He received a law degree from Harvard Law School, and a master’s degree from Harvard’s John F. Lincoln Law School of San Jose provides an exemplary law school curriculum taught by practicing lawyers and judges.  Local Lincoln graduates include Dave Cortese (Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors), Linda LaZotte (San Jose City Council and Santa Clara Valley Water District Board), Hon. Teresa Guerrero-Daley (deceased), Christopher Moore (San Jose Police Chief and Presidential Fellow under the Obama Administration); and Patricia Castorena (Immigration Correspondent for Noticiero Telemundo).  Maya Harris, MSNBC correspondent and campaign manager for Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, has noted that Lincoln Law School of San Jose made her the youngest law school dean in the country at age 29.  
The current Dean of Lincoln Law School of San Jose, Laura Palazzolo, is a San Jose native and a graduate of both San Jose State University and Lincoln Law School of San Jose.  She spent most of her two-decade career as a civil litigator at San Jose law firm Berliner Cohen.  Dean Palazzolo taught Real property at Lincoln for ten years.  She began her legal studies when her three children were all under age 5. 
The commencement ceremony will be taking place at the Corinthian Grand Ballroom on May 18th.
