Marriott St. Louis Grand Announces New Executive Sous Chef Indrajit Suryawanshi

United States, Missouri, St. Louis – 05-20-2019 (PRDistribution.com) — New Chef Brings His Indian Cuisine Culinary Expertise to the Hotel’s Signature Restaurant, Zenia Bar & Grille, and Numerous Special Events

With over 12 years of experience in all facets of cooking and management for world class hotels, Indrajit Suryawanshi has been appointed by Haberhill LLC as Executive Sous Chef to oversee all culinary activities for the Marriott St. Louis Grand hotel. The Fernandina Beach, Florida-based Haberhill has been lending external expertise to investors in the hospitality and lodging sector since 2000. The hotel is currently under license from Marriott International, Inc. Throughout his entire career, Chef Suryawanshi has been very successful at putting his extensive food knowledge to good use.  In 2007 he received his Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from the esteemed Kohinoor College of Hotel & Tourism Management. From there he went on to several Pastry Chef positions at such high-profile hotels as the Phoenix JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa and the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort. In 2013 he decided to take his talents overseas and broaden his management skills by becoming the Assistant Chef de Cuisine at the JW Marriott Dubai. His year in Dubai proved very rewarding and led to several Executive Chef Positions on his return at such notable Washington D.C. hotels, such as the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, the Marriott Marquis Washington, DC, and the MGM National Harbor. Among the many culinary talents that Chef Suryawanshi brings to his new position in St. Louis, perhaps most notable is his expertise in Indian cuisine. His skills at preparing such unusual and complex dishes is well-known throughout Marriott International, so much so that he was invited to be a part of the culinary team which executed the Indian cuisine portion at Marriott Connect 2019. “We are excited to welcome Indrajit to St. Louis,” said Theona Simbrat, General Manager of the Marriott St. Louis Grand. “He is of course extremely talented, with an impressive culinary background, and we are confident that our guests will enjoy what he puts on the table.” About Marriott St. Louis GrandA contemporary oasis in the downtown area, Marriott St. Louis Grand offers stylish accommodations for business and leisure travel.
