United States, Illinois, Chicago – 05-23-2019 (PRDistribution.com) — Paul Banks has over a decade of experience as a professional writer, which stemmed from his passion that was harnessed during his time as a Fulbright Scholar. As a reporter, Paul has written for the Chicago Tribune Red Eye, the Washington Times and NBC Chicago as well as his own blog, The Sports Bank. His most recent literary venture was a self-published book entitled, “No, I Can’t Get You Free Tickets”. This book is a compilation of Paul’s experience in the sports media arena.

“No, I Can’t Get You Free Tickets: Lessons Learned in the Sports Media Industry” is, simply put, The Sports Bank condensed down into book form, highlighting the most humorous, pivotal and eye opening of Paul’s experiences. This publication is required reading for anyone interested in the past, present and future of the sports media industry. Its allure is the recapping of the most memorable moments of his career, including a story that inspired memes, t-shirts and a catch-phrase. Not only does he report the facts, he goes a step further to unearth the depths of a story on a personal level to help fans connect even more with players, teams and coaches.“Over the years, I have learned a lot from working in sports media, and not all of it was as glamorous as one might think,” said Paul. “I wanted to write this book to showcase the good, the bad and the ugly sides of what goes into sports interviews and all of the behind the scenes goings on that most readers never have the pleasure of experiencing.”Additionally, Paul is a member of the United States Basketball Writers Association and the Football Writers Association of America. He has been credentialed to cover events at the United Nations, the Rose Bowl, BCS National Championship, Final Four, Stanley Cup Finals, and the NBA Playoffs.
