The Lexington Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa has completed a multi-million dollar renovation of all of its 28,901 square feet of meeting and event space, and currently offers the newest ballroom in greater Lexington, as announced today by Craig Sundell, General Manager.
A total of 26 event spaces were redone including the Grand Ballroom which is 9,750 square feet and the largest ballroom of any hotel in the area. It can accommodate 1,200 participants theater style or 800 for a banquet. Other renovated spaces include the smaller Terrace Ballroom (2,160 square feet) and the other meeting rooms which were all completely redone to incorporate new carpeting and wall coverings, new chairs, and updated technology with digital reader boards throughout the ballrooms as well as digital meeting panels placed throughout the resort.
In order to reduce the property’s carbon footprint, LED lighting was also added throughout both ballrooms, event spaces and the pre-function foyers. New decor features artwork paying homage to the area’s Bluegrass heritage including equine-themed photographs and a shadow box featuring past Derby winners.
The overall design theme is representative of a sleek, mid-century modern style in neutral tones of beige, gray, and brown with warm wood, stone, metal, and sculptural leather accents.
