United States, Virginia, Arlington – 08-07-2019 ( — America’s 71 living Medal of Honor recipients want citizens across the nation to nominate unsung heroes to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Citizen Honors Awards.  “Today my fellow recipients and I are asking Americans to nominate their hometown heroes for this special recognition,” said Drew Dix, Medal of Honor recipient and president of the Society. “The Society created the Citizen Honors awards to recognize ordinary Americans who demonstrate courage and selfless service through their actions, making a difference in the lives of others,” he continued, “and we’re excited about recognizing more citizen heroes this year.” The Society created the Citizen Honors Awards in 2008. To be eligible for consideration, nominees must be U.S. citizens who are 18 years of age or older.
