Previews at Showplace Antiques + Design Center:October 21st through November 3rd On November 3rd, Auctions at Showplace will present choice selections of fine art, furniture, silver, jewelry, and decorative arts all fresh to the market from New York City estates. Headlining the sale is a handsome group of Paul Evans Brutalist furniture comprising a PE-40A cabinet, a patchwork slate top wall mounted console table, and a glass top coffee table with sculptural bronze base. Other modern furniture includes a Ria and Yiouri Augousti French brass three-legged side table with inlaid shagreen top, a pair of Arturo Pani attributed starburst sputnik form table lamps, a pair of Pierre Cardin attributed monumental sculptural faux tusks, a pair of Mies van der Rohe “Brno” armchairs upholstered in black leather, a Cini Boeri for Knoll “Lunario” glass top coffee table, a Baker Furniture modern writing desk, a Stellar Works “QT” contemporary coffee table, and a Yngve Ekstrom for Swedese beechwood “Lamino” armchair with cream leather upholstery. Artwork by hotly sought after artists includes two oil paintings by Nicola Simbari, a monumental 1995 watercolor by Claire Anne Khalil titled “Women and Literature: Diptych II,” an abstract expressionist oil on board attributed to Antonio Dias, a Louis Henry Charles Moeller oil on board depicting gentlemen at a table, a Jose Vela Zanetti watercolor and gouache portrait of a man, and contemporary works by Julian Jackson, Joseph Hart, Lee Manik, and Susanna Dent.In time for holiday shopping is a lovely assortment of fine jewelry including a 22K yellow gold and diamonds hinged bracelet with modern geometric motifs along with a similar pair of 22K earrings with rubies and an 18K pendant, a 14K yellow gold ring with 0.75 ct central diamond flanked by round-cut rhodolite garnets, an 18K Rolex Montres Oyster Perpetual chronometer wristwatch, a Lalounis manner 18K yellow gold and lapis lazuli necklace, a 14K cat-form brooch with diamonds, jade, rubies and sapphires, an 18K white gold and diamonds branch with leaves motif brooch, and a Brutalist 18K large linked choker necklace.Offerings in fine silver include a Lunt “Eloquence” pattern 118 piece flatware service, 42 pieces of Reed & Barton “Florentine Lace” flatware, an A.
