United States, Florida, Cape Canaveral – 12-11-2019 (PRDistribution.com) — A new company is offering people the chance to feel part of the international space program and launch personalized plaques into orbit and beyond. AstroGrams Inc. has been launched in Cape Canaveral, FL – under the guidance and tutelage of astronaut Charlie Duke, who walked on the moon in 1972 – to promote awareness of space. Anyone can now choose a destination and custom-made design through the AstroGrams website (AstroGrams.com) from just $99 and submit for lift-off.
Talking about the new company Charlie Duke said: “The reason I have helped establish AstroGrams is because it reminds me of when I went to the moon all those years ago. I had taken a photo of my family along with me and written a brief message on the back, which was then left on the moon. It was my desire to make my family part of the mission, so this was my way of taking them with me and recognizing the role they have played in my life. AstroGrams will allow anyone to send their own message into space, enabling them to celebrate, commemorate or communicate an important event or loved one in a truly unique way.”
AstroGrams enables anyone, anywhere in the world, to inscribe a custom-made plaque which will be sent into space. As well as a personalized message it will be possible to also add clip art or even a photo of your choice. In addition to sending the plaque into space, customers will also receive:
- A Certificate of Purchase
- A welcome letter from Charlie Duke (LMP Apollo 16; Capcom Apollo 11)
- Full details of the launch, including the mission and when the rocket is being prepared
- Ability to live stream the rocket launch (where available)
- A Certificate of Authenticity with a copy of the plaque following the launch
“As part of each payload being sent into space, we will make a part of this available for free to enable pediatric patients to send their own personal message into space. They will be able to watch their message blast off via a webcam on the Internet, providing inspiration and hope to children in hospital as they recover,” Charlie went on to say.
Andrew Dodge, Director of AstroGrams™ commented: “We wanted to allow people to celebrate a variety of events such as a birthday, an anniversary or some other celebration, as well as those moments when you want to tell someone they mean more than the world to you. We also want to inspire people, especially amongst younger generations, to talk and think about all that can be achieved with space programs.”
AstroGrams: Our mission is to promote awareness of space. To make people feel part of the space program, by celebrating, commemorating and communicating personally through “launching” their personal AstroGram™. We want to inspire people to talk and think about all that can be achieved with space programs, especially amongst younger generations.
