As an expert in the field of Engineering, Dr. Banerjee has over a decade of professional experience. He has demonstrated success not only as an Assistant Professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering and Mechanical Engineering for the University of Washington but also as a Research Scientist. Dr. Banerjee’s notable prior roles include: Research Scientist in Complex Systems Engineering Laboratory for General Electric Global Research; Research Scientist for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory for Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and Postdoctoral Associate in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory for Massachusetts Institute of Technology.Dr. Banerjee received his Bachelor’s in Manufacturing Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in 2004, his Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland. For 2018, he was selected as Top Engineer of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). In 2019, he was featured in TIP (Top Industry Professional) Magazine and is also being considered for IAOTP’s Male Visionary of the Year Award for 2020. Aside from his successful career, Dr. Banerjee is a sought-after scientist, researcher and educator who shares his visionary knowledge with colleagues and students alike. He was invited to present his work at the inaugural University of Southern California symposium on the “Futures of Robotics”, the 2011 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems anniversary workshop on “20 years of Microrobotics: progress, challenges, and future directions”, the Boeing Distinguished Researcher and Scholar Seminar, and the IISE Data Analytics and Information Systems Division Webinar in 2019.
