Quality Management a Top Priority for Growing Telecom VAR
RICHMOND, January 27, 2020 – Richmond, VA-based Connected Solutions Group (CSG) has successfully attained ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications, showing their commitment to maintaining the highest quality management standards across their organization.
The ISO 9001:2015 standard certifies CSG’s consistent and reliable product delivery of high-quality standards to their customers. The ISO 13485:2016 standard is specific to the medical device industry and certifies CSG’s quality-standard for medical devices and related products that they distribute and sell are consistently of the highest degree, ensuring reliability to their customers.
CSG CEO Michael Pittman commented, “We are in an industry, like so many, where quality is a highly-subjective term. We wanted to prove to our customers that when we market the quality of our products, it’s not just our word, but a third-party, independently-recognized, international standard that we are meeting consistently.” CSG spent a year working to document and solidify its quality management system to stand up to the two rigorous audits. The quality management system was reviewed by an ISO auditing firm in two stages which included over a week of on-site review by the auditors. In addition to the initial audits, the firm will be re-audited on-site annually in order to maintain the certifications.
James Munsey, COO at CSG stated, “What really triggered this for us is the growing demand for medical device distribution bundled with customized tablets for the end-patient, which has been a quickly-developing vertical at CSG. We wanted to show the healthcare industry our commitment to this business, how seriously we take the quality and confidentiality standards around it, and our desire to be certified by a third-party that we are meeting industry best practices.” As the firm initially looked into the medical device certification, they quickly saw the value of the general quality management system (ISO 9001) as well and chose to pursue both standards simultaneously. “I am incredibly proud of our quality manager, Angel Perez, and his team for successfully completing this ambitious dual certification process,” Munsey said.
