Newport Beach Police received a 911 call about the incident at Superior Avenue and Hospital Road. A police spokesperson said the pedestrian was walking across the intersection in the crosswalk before getting hit by a red or maroon vehicle traveling north on Superior. The victim suffered catastrophic injuries and is still hospitalized to this date. Surveillance video show the vehicle is possibly an early 2000’s Land Rover Freelander and had damaged on the right side. Initial investigations have failed to identify the driver of the SUV. In a move to encourage public involvement, RLF hereby offers a $10,000.00 cash reward for any individual who first provides credible information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the driver involved in this hit-and-run collision.
