FOOD ENGINEER IDENTIFIES DIETARY CHANGES TO STRENGTHEN YOUR INFECTION RESISTANCE AS CORONAVIRUS SICKENS THOUSANDS WORLDWIDE

United States, New York, New York – 02-13-2020 (PRDistribution.com) — Feb. 13th , 2020 (NEW YORK) – As the global healthcare system races to develop an effective treatment for the Wuhan coronavirus, whose outbreak has been deemed a global health emergency, food engineer Dr. Asli Samanci has identified dietary changes that can help your body fight infection and speed recovery from disease.

The novel coronavirus, first observed in Wuhan, China, has sickened more than 60,000 people while killing thousands, according to the World Health Organization. Not previously identified in humans, it attacks the respiratory system and causes symptoms including cough, shortness of breath, weakness, throat pain and high fever.

No vaccine is available yet, and healthcare providers have grown increasingly reluctant to prescribe antibiotics for viral infections in order to avoid overusing them and possibly rendering them less effective.

Against that backdrop, natural medicinal products are becoming increasingly popular choices for boosting immunity. The body’s immune system is a critical determinant in regulating virulence and disease outcomes, according to health literature[1]

“It’s essential to drink plenty of liquids, eat lots of fruits and vegetables and get plenty of of rest,” Samanci said. Including antioxidant-rich foods, such as onions, garlic, apple vinegar, ginger, turmeric and cinnamon, in diets is widely recommended. We may also add Anatolian propolis – which has shown antiviral, antimicrobial and powerful antioxidant properties.”

Anatolian Propolis is one of the most potent antioxidant sources in the world, she added, almost 80 times more powerful than pomegranate juice.

Propolis and foods such as royal jelly, ginseng, ginger and turmeric, along with dishes like yogurt and kefir that contain beneficial microorganisms, can also bolster the immune system before and during the stress of travel, Samanci explained.

Apple cider vinegar, which humans have used for thousands of years, is another powerful tool, she said.

“Apple cider vinegar contains organic acids, phenolic compounds, vitamins, and minerals and exhibits beneficial antimicrobial, antioxidant, antidiabetic, anticarcinogenic, and antiviral properties. Consuming it may act as a disinfectant that might help to protect the body against viruses,” Samanci said.

“I recommend consuming a mixture of 1 TBSP raw honey, 1 TBSP apple vinegar, 10 drops of Anatolian propolis, and a pinch each of ginger, turmeric and cinnamon twice every day,” she added. “I believe it would help to strengthen your immune system by making you more resistant to viral infections.”
