Mikey See Defends His Exclusive Rights Against Copyright Alleycats

United States, New York, New York – 02-22-2020 (PRDistribution.com) — For Immediate Release – New York, NY Independent artist and acclaimed BMI singer/songwriter Mikey See has been the victim of a fervid and slanderous media attack by the Austin, Texas-based duo, “Tribe Mafia.”

Carlos Daniel Dashawn Moore and Chinasa Braxton Okorocha of “Tribe Mafia” entered into a “Work for Hire” agreement with Mikey See in 2019 after meeting at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Mikey See solely paid for studio time and associated costs in the creation and production of the musical compositions “Far Away,” “Watch Out,” and “Can’t Let Go.” It is without question that clear ownership of these three records belongs solely to Mikey See.In January 2020, Mikey See released the three singles with critical acclaim.  However, and only after Mikey See amicably severed ties with them, “Tribe Mafia” launched a campaign of slander and defamation against him, which has included false claims of copyright ownership of “Far Away,” “Watch Out,” and “Can’t Let Go.”  “Tribe Mafia” received a cease and desist notice from Mikey See’s counsel in early January 2020, which has gone unanswered.  Mikey See takes copyright infringement, and the protection of his work and rights, extremely seriously. In the coming weeks, he plans to vigorously take the necessary steps to enforce his legal and equitable rights.
