April 19th Auction at Showplace to Benefit COVID-19 Relief

NEW YORK, NY – 04-08-2020 (PRDistribution.com) — (New York, NY) – Showplace will once again donate a percentage of buyer’s premium proceeds to COVID-19 relief after receiving an enthusiastic outpouring of support from our community. 

The sale follows a successful April 5th auction in which ten percent of the house’s buyer’s premium proceeds were given to the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Relief Fund which provides crucial resources to patients and first responders directly affected by the pandemic.

Among many fine works of art is a Gaston Sebire large oil on canvas depicting a floral still life, Louis Fabien’s “En Attendant” Impressionist manner oil, a Karel Appel serigraph titled “Toi et Moi,” Lazar Rosenfeld’s “Rabbinical Scholar,” among a wide selection of 19th century paintings including one depicting Bellona, the mythological warrior, depicted with her characteristic helmet, spear and shield with head of Medusa, and a finely executed version of “The Binding of Issac.” 

As usual, Showplace is excited to present excellent designer jewelry, fashion, and other luxury goods. This sale features strong offerings in costume jewelry including Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent, and Nina Ricci, a collection of Hermes scarves, and garments by Givenchy, Valentino, Emilio Pucci, St. John, Christian Dior, and others. 

A wide selection of fine jewelry features many exquisite gold and silver rings, earrings, bracelets, and other accessories across a wide range of style and designs. Notable selections by Tiffany & Co. include two wristwatches, a gold pendant necklace designed by Elsa Peretti and an additional gold and diamond necklace.
