(Oakbrook Terrace, IL, 04/22/2020) – On April 19, 2020, GainPeace, a Muslim group based in Chicago, launched a four-week campaign designed to salute the first responder.
The primary purpose of the ‘Salute our Heroes’ campaign, is to let our fellow Americans know that the Muslim community appreciates the brave souls who are in the front line of treating the COVID-19 patients and risking their lives in the process.
THE CAMPAIGN CONSISTS OF:
- One billboard in Chicago highway AND more billboards considered in other cities and states
- An outreach phone line to take calls about Islamic advice on staying safe amid COVID-19
BILLBOARD LOCATIONS:
Highway 294, going south, 1 block north of the O’Hare oasis.
Since the launch of this campaign, GainPeace has received around 200 calls and several emails of support from around the world.’ Dr. Sabeel Ahmed, director of GainPeace.
Upon request, GainPeace can arrange its staff to be available for interviews over video conference or in the studios of TV channels and radio stations.
GainPeace is the outreach department of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). GainPeace’s goal is to educate fellow Americans about the fundamental teachings of Islam and to encourage dialogue, promote justice, and establish mutual understanding.
