Smithtown-based PuroClean Brings its Free Vehicle Sanitizing Services to the Frontline Workers’ of St. Catherine’s of Siena

United States, New York, Smithtown – 05-18-2020 (PRDistribution.com) — Smithtown, NY – – – In a community dramatically affected by the spread of COVID-19, some area businesses are stepping up in the best ways they know how to lend a hand. For the sixth time in the past 30 days, PuroClean of Smithtown will be offering free sanitizing services for frontline workers’ personal vehicles: this time to the 2,000+ employees of St. Catherine’s of Siena’s health center network. The event will be held from 1 – 7:45 p.m., Thursday, May 21, on the grounds of the hospital and medical center, 968 Saint Johnland Rd., Kings Park. The free services are available to all of St. Catherine’s hospital, nursing home and medical office staff. The sanitizing process takes less than 5 minutes per vehicle. “This area has been beat down – hard – by the spread of COVID-19. St. Catherine’s is an integral part of the Smithtown community and has been caring for COVID-19 patients for months now.

We want to show our appreciation for their dedication by offering them free sanitizing services. We hope the service gives them a little peace of mind in these stressful times that the interior of their vehicle is clean and safe,” said Robert Corrado, owner, PuroClean of Smithtown. The event comes on the heels of its third event held at Setauket Fire Department, adjacent to Stony Brook University, which attracted over 70 first responders. Corrado said they have sanitized over 360 vehicles for free for first responders/frontline workers and they have multiple more events in the works. “There are more and more reports of price gouging and companies opening up and using unproven sanitation products and methods of cleaning to take advantage of the public’s fears during this health emergency. It infuriates me and has made our team even more committed to showing front line workers that the vast majority of the public cares,” he explained.

The products used by PuroClean for the disinfection are EPA-approved and verified safe and eco-friendly with a hazard rating of zero. An anti-microbial is also used to provide longer-lasting protection. The PuroClean technicians wear the proper personal protection equipment to ensure safety – including suits, gloves and masks. Social distancing of car owners during the disinfection process will also be coordinated. PuroClean is known for its property restoration services related to water, fire and smoke damage; mold removal; reconstruction; and biohazard cleanup. There will be multiple trained and certified technicians on-site for the free event. The sanitizing treatment prevents contamination and minimizes the risk of pathogens spreading to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Additional events are planned in the upcoming weeks.
