UFO Lands in LA as Non-Alien Hemp Milk Takes Over Stores

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – 07-21-2020 — Los Angeles, California: It’s not yet taking over the world – but the arrival of UFO in LA’s Whole Foods Market’s has caused quite a stir among inquisitive shoppers.

Udder Free Only (UFO) is made exclusively using USDA certified organic Hemp seed grown by U.S. farmers. It is the first locally produced, plant-based, dairy-alternative to hit a major retailer’s shelves in the refrigerated dairy aisle.

Developed by founders, Daniel Art and Drew Schwartz, UFO non-dairy milks are made without the use of any added gums or stabilizers. Packed in reusable glass bottles, this sugar free beverage touts just six simple organic ingredients including gluten-free oats, chia seeds and industrial hemp seeds.

UFO is the first commercial, cold channel, Hemp milk to go to market using organic Hemp seed grown in the United States; a direct result of the 2018 Farm Bill that legalized growing and selling industrial Hemp domestically.

Hemp seeds have been known for centuries to possess a dense nutritive value, containing all 9 essential amino acids. Few plant-based foods can identify as a complete protein source, which is why vegetarians and vegans have traditionally flocked to Hemp seeds for protein.

Incredibly, just two tablespoons of Hemp seed contain 5 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber, 300mg of potassium, 15 percent of our daily vitamin-A and 25 percent of our daily Iron needs. This amazing little seed won’t get you “high,” but it does contain a wide variety of vitamins and minerals including vitamin E, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, zinc and B vitamins.

Hemp seed is a reliable source of omega-3s and omega-6s; polyunsaturated fatty acids that are essential to human health. When considering the breadth of health benefits contained in the mighty Hemp seed, UFO Hemp milk does seem almost otherworldly!

While growing steadily in popularity, UFO took a direct hit when Covid-19 forced many small-time local retailers to shut up shop. In response, Daniel and Drew launched a successful home delivery service and distributed their products door-to-door across Los Angeles.

Now, UFO’s most popular flavors – Unsweetened and Vanilla – have hit shelves at Whole Foods Market locations in the Los Angeles region.

The two friends set out to create a fun and healthy dairy alternative, in an effort to combat human caused climate change. They purposefully choose to use reusable glass packaging to aid in their environmental mission, as well as space-themed recyclable paper labels complete with vanilla-bean shooting stars and plant-based spaceships.

Drew added, “By consuming more plant-based foods, we reduce our environmental footprint and lead healthier lives. Let’s take this one small step together and make a giant leap for humankind!”
