SIE Consulting Group Launches Health & Higher Ed Practice

3101 WILSON BLVD., SUITE 240, ARLINGTON, VA 22201 – 10-13-2020 (PRDistribution.com) — SIE Consulting Group, a recognized leader in operations and technology consulting is pleased to announce the launch of their Health and Higher Ed Practice.

“SIE is excited to be launching a practice dedicated to Health and Higher Education,” says SIE Consulting Group Co-Founder Dave Harrington. “Both of those industries are facing unprecedented financial challenges during COVID-19. Hospital systems and universities especially need immediate financial relief. We believe our investment in building a Health and Higher Ed practice dedicated to rapid cost control, financial improvement, and optimal return on investment (ROI) will leverage our firm’s unique talents and provide positive impact for two industries that sorely need it.”

SIE’s Health & Higher Ed will offer several services related to rapid cost recovery and category management, especially in the areas of information technology, supply chain, and corporate partnership. Hospital information technology, particularly those related to enterprise software, cloud computing, and infrastructure, will be strong areas of focus.

Leading this new practice is former Advisory Board and Optum Executive Rick Conlin. “SIE brings several unique competencies, fortified by consistent multi-industry results. I’m enthusiastic about what we want to ultimately build at SIE Health & Higher Ed. SIE has established such a great culture as a business, I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Conlin, who has more than 15 years of consulting experience, most recently served as a Founding Partner of Optum Advisory Services’ Cost Management Practice, one of the largest healthcare advisory practices in the US. His experience also includes senior roles at The Advisory Board Company, where he was founding partner of their Spend Performance Solutions Practice. Prior to his Advisory Board time, Rick spent several successful years with both Censeo Consulting and PRTM. Prior to his consulting career, Rick served as a Naval Supply Officer and is a graduate of the US Naval Academy.

“Hospitals are suffering financially right now,” said Conlin. Nearly all of them are in the red due to COVID-19. They need to find more savings outside of labor and patient care. We believe that our offerings can help hospitals get back on their feet financially to continue providing excellent service to their communities. That’s SIE’s primary goal in launching this practice.”
SIE Co-founder Michael Kearns welcomed the addition of Mr. Conlin into the new role, saying “Rick brings a unique blend of vision and enthusiasm into this endeavor. We’re thrilled to have him launching our new Practice.”
