Canadian Startups Partner to Help Independent Retailers and Restaurants this Holiday Season

MILTON, ONTARIO, – 12-09-2020 — Milton residents invited to pilot mobile apps, Emoggo and LooksAR pro for an augmented reality experience to create community spirit and support localbusinesses

Emoggo, Inc. announced a marketing partnership aimed at helping independent retailers and restaurants during this holiday season.

Starting December 5 anyone with a smartphone can participate in the Great Gift Hunt, an augmented reality treasure hunt. Users will locate a special poster with the Emoggo app, then scan it with the LooksAR pro app to reveal virtual presents that will be sent to the North Pole. As a reward for successfully finding the virtual presents, users receive interactive messages from local businesses that could include a free gift, discount on purchases, holiday prizes or other incentives. Emoggo will also send out messages to Gift Hunters when new gift locations are spotted.

Close to 500 Milton businesses, including independent retailers, restaurants and personal service providers are already on Emoggo. Consumers are encouraged to download the Emoggo app from the Google Play and Apple App stores. The Emoggo mobile community database includes information such as store hours, location and promotions.

Local business owners can participate in the Great Gift Hunt for free and Emoggo will make a small donation to one of these not for profit organizations: Community Foundation of Halton North, the Milton Santa Claus Parade fund or Re:Soul Youth Centre on their behalf.

The LooksAR pro creation suite and universal app will be integrated with Emoggo so that shoppers can reveal the Augmented Reality ‘treasures’ during the hunt.

“LooksAR pro brings augmented reality to the masses with it’s click to create suite that allows anyone to create augmented reality experiences. Our marketing partnership with Emoggo is an important industry use case we’re excited to develope in partnership with the Emoggo team”, said Ruslan Federenko, CEO and President of M2F, Inc., the developers of LooksAR pro.

“Small businesses have sacrificed a lot this year”, said Emoggo Founder, Lisa Denis, “We are so excited to leverage LooksAR pro to create a memorable and safe experience for consumers in one of Canada’s fastest growing communities and continue in our mission to mobilize businesses, the community and local economies.”
