George Ballew, Senior Vice President at Member Options LLC, was recently chosen to receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for 2022 given by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor, only a few members are chosen for the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. These special honorees are distinguished based on their longevity in their fields, their contributions they have made to society and the impact they have had on their industries. Furthermore, Mr. Ballew will receive his recognition from 2021 as Top Executive of the Year in Mortgage Banking along with the Lifetime Achievement Award at IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas this December.
George Ballew is being recognized as a Lifetime Achievement Awardee for dedicating close to thirty five years of his life’s work as a seasoned executive in mortgage banking. Mr. Ballew is a dynamic, results-driven leader, who has demonstrated success and professionalism throughout his entire career. He is responsible for the management and operations of Member Options LLC, a mortgage division of the University of Virginia Community Credit Union, which serves homeowners throughout Central Virginia.
His impressive repertoire of previous roles has included VP/Mortgage Division Manager at Planters Bank & Trust Company, Senior VP/Regional Mortgage Manager at BB&T Mortgage, CEO/ Mortgage Division of First Bank, Senior VP/Chief Mortgage Lending Officer at Opportunity Bank of Montana, Branch Manager at Embrace Home Loans, and Senior Branch Manager at Integrity Home Mortgage Corp.
Mr. Ballew specializes in mortgage lending, banking, management, sales, loan origination, residential homes, real estate financing, working with investors, executive management, financial services, working with first time home buyers, U.S. Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Veterans Administration (VA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) loans. Additionally, he is a Member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).
Before embarking on his professional career path, Mr. Ballew attended Blue Ridge Community College earning his degree in Banking and Finance. To further his studies, he obtained his Direct Endorsement Underwriter certification through HUD, and he earned his Virginia Mortgage Lending License, along with several leadership and management certifications throughout his career.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Ballew has received awards, accolades and has been recognized worldwide for his outstanding leadership and commitment to his profession. This year he will be considered for a feature article in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and to be featured on the famous Reuters Billboard in Times Square NYC. In past years, Mr. Ballew was recognized as a professional of the year and as a lifetime achievement recipient from several organizations.
Looking back, Mr. Ballew attributes his success to his perseverance, his integrity and his highly regarded reputation as a leading mortgage banking executive. When not working, he enjoys spending time with Cathy his wife of 19 years, and his 6 boys and 8 grandchildren, watching sports and traveling. For the future, Mr. Ballew will continue his efforts organizing and building mortgage divisions and companies for banks and credit unions and he loves the challenges of producing successful and profitable organizations.
