Gary Bailey is a Manchester United Legend, TV Presenter & Soccer Commentator for Vista and for BeIN Sports. He was recently selected as Top Sports Legend and Philanthropist of the Year for 2023 for his outstanding leadership, dedication and contributions to philanthropy.

With more than four decades of professional experience as a talented sport professional and philanthropist, Gary has certainly proven himself as accomplished and he is an expert of many fields. He is a dynamic results-driven leader who has demonstrated success and advancement throughout his entire career. Currently, Gary works for BeIN Sports in Miami, Florida covering Spanish and French football (soccer), and does commentary for USL (USA 2nd division) & NWSL.
His impressive repertoire of prior roles includes his professional career in soccer playing 375 first team games for Manchester United in the late 70’s and 80’s, playing for England from 1979 to 1986 including the World Cup in Mexico and lastly for the South African Glamour Club Kaizer Chiefs. Upon retiring Gary took a position as a radio journalist at Radio 702 and he served as a TV analyst at Supersport, where he spent 25 years as the face of English football to the continent of Africa.
Highlights of Gary’s career are winning 2 FA cup medals in 1983 and 1985 (similar to Super Bowl) and finishing in top 4 of the league on 3 occasions. On the international scene, he won the European U21 championship with England in 1984, and also 2 England full caps, and was part of 1986 world cup squad in Mexico.
Gary has extensive skills and expertise in entrepreneurship, leadership, non-profits, coaching, personal development, emotional intelligence, marketing strategy, executive development, presentation coaching, strategic planning, team building, organizational development, training, management consulting, change management, executive coaching and business development.
Gary attended King Edward School and later Rondebosch Boys High in Cape Town, South Africa. He was noticed at Wits University for his goal keeping talents and became their regular goalkeeper at 17 years old. Gary earned his BSc in physics and an MBA from Henley in Oxford, England.
Throughout his illustrious career, Gary was recognized worldwide for his notable contributions, he has received awards, accolades and has been featured in some publications. IAOTP will feature him in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine, and he will be honored for his selection as Top Sports Legend and Philanthropist at the awards gala at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Next year he will be considered for an exclusive interview on TIP Radio and for the Lifetime Achievement Award from IAOTP. Gary was also named Top Speaker and inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Aside from his successful career, Gary has also written two books- “Success Under Pressure”, with the forward written by former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, and a personal book to help society on divorce called “Putting the Kids First”. Gary was president of Yenzani childrens home in Johannesburg for 10 years where he built 3 house to provide security for children whose safety was in danger. Gary was also an ambassador for South Africa’s soccer World cup in 2010. He formed the most successful soccer academy in South Africa at Pretoria University and produced 13 players who went onto represent South Africa at an international level.
Gary is an active member within his community, and he is an expert celebrity speaker on “Success Under Pressure”. He teaches 5 GREAT Principles, through his keynote speaking that inspires audiences for greater success when under pressure. Gary has traveled the world speaking to many of the top companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Nike, Coca Cola, AON, Mercedes Benz, SAB Miller etc.
