With more than 30 years of professional flying experience, Laura has certainly proven herself as an accomplished Commercial Airline Pilot. She is a dynamic, results driven leader who has demonstrated success and professionalism throughout her entire career. Currently, Laura is an aviation and health enthusiast who has dedicated her life to flying commercial aircraft, promoting the aviation and travel industry, and creating books and films to share her experiences.
Laura’s areas of expertise include Commercial and Military Aviation, Flight Safety, Piloting, Flight Planning, Aeronautics, Aviation Security, Flight Training, Civil Aviation, Charters, Leadership, Crew Resource Management, Aerospace, Customer Service, Aircraft Maintenance, Media Relations, Writing, Speaking, and Broadcasting.
Her impressive repertoire of past roles includes Director of Operations at Wanda Collins Airshows, Instructor for all levels of flying at Tradewinds Aviation out of San Jose International Airport, and she was hired as a Navy Contract Pilot. Laura has worked for major US Airlines for more than 24 years and counting, additionally she earned various titles including Captain currently for the past seven years. She served as CNN’s Aviation Consultant and for CBS as their National News Aviation Consultant. She was entered for an Emmy Award for her work co-hosting the San Francisco Fleet Week Airshow Live Broadcast for KRON 4 News.
As a Commercial Airline Pilot, Laura is qualified on aircrafts for Boeing 767, 757, 737, Airbus 320, Lockheed L-188?(civilian P-3) and Convair 580 – ?flying International and domestic routes, military contracts and for various twin and single engine aircraft and for numerous aerobatic aircrafts. As a Flight and Ground Instructor, Laura is certified as a Multi-engine Instructor, Commercial Flight Instructor, Commercial Flight Instrument Instructor, taught all levels of flying and ground schools.
Laura is the author of several air guide traveler books and shares stories of resilience and perseverance. These include “Air Travel Questions Answered”, “The Passengers Guide to Air Travel”, “Harrowing Pilot Stories”, “Lost and Found”, and “Captain”. She and her agent are looking to co-Captain with a major publisher to offer these at airport bookstores, travel sections, feature films, and streaming series. She is an active blogger who enjoys sharing her knowledge, insight and experiences in her writings. Laura is available for speaking engagements and helps others feel empowered while helping create a better quality of life regarding flying, health, goal achievement, and child development.
Before embarking on her current career path, Laura earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) with a minor in Dispatch. Throughout her illustrious career, Laura has received awards and was recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership as a renowned Commercial Airline Pilot.
